Looking for new ways for your teen to spend the summer? Look no further, Venture Camp is here!
Calling all future scientists! Have you ever wondered about the organisms you can’t see with the naked eye? Or about how mosquitoes and other animals play a role in our health? Each day of this camp will allow future scientists the ability to explore the biological world found in Florida with engaging experiments, presentations, animal encounters, hiking, ziplining and field trips aimed towards creating a “journey into the life sciences”.

Venture Camp: Bio-explorers Session I (6/9-6/13/25)
Venture Camp: Bio-explorers Session II (6/23-6/27/25)
Venture Camp: Bio-explorers Session III (7/7-7/11/25)
Venture Camp: Bio-explorers Session IV (7/21-7/25/25)
Weekly activities:
Hiking- explore the wonders of the Florida Hammocks with a guided hike. Activities on this day will center around backyard ecosystems and the various creatures that create them. This is a great introduction to biology!
Zip the Zoo!- experience heights and thrills as you traverse the treetops above the Alligator Farm. Engage in exploration of the plants and animals around us and finish out the day learning how plants support life systems.
Disease Vector Education- Let’s begin chatting about the things you cannot see as we introduce concepts of how organisms can transmit pathogens as well as things like pollen with a fun field trip.
The Zoo and You- Dive into the world of animals, their adaptations, and behaviors. Learn how animals have evolved to fit into their environments.
Genetics and Us!- on this day we will introduce the basic concepts of genetics as we explore family relationships that have helped shape the Alligator Farm.

Venture Camps are open for students in ages 10 to 14. Lunch and snacks are provided, or campers may bring their own. Please have your camper bring a small bag with anything they may need for the day. Suggested pack list: water bottle, closed-toe shoes, weather and outdoor camp appropriate clothing, jacket (if needed), lunch and snacks (if needed), daily medications. An email will be sent out with a list of additional details before the first week of camp.
