This conservation event is held on the first weekend of October each year. The St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park partners with breweries and vendors throughout Florida to offer sample beers, food, and live music as you stroll through the zoo and learn about conservation work happening right here in St Johns County.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit Project Mecistops
Project Mecistops is committed to ensuring the future of the slender-snouted crocodile, Africa’s most Critically Endangered crocodile. This goal is being achieved through captive breeding, reintroduction, capacity-building, and support of national parks. Funds raised from this event will expand survey work into Nigeria and Sierra Leone following recent illegal confiscations. Through these research activities, Project Mecistops will work with appropriate local stakeholders to raise awareness and build capacity for the management of slender-snouted crocodiles at key sites in West Africa.
